What is an Exotic Pet

Exotic Animal Hospital

Here at East Roswell Vet Hospital, we do not just lovingly care for our clients' cats and dogs. Exotic pets are becoming more popular, and we can help them too.

What is an exotic pet? Basically any furry, scaly or feathered pet that is not a cat, dog or horse (or any other larger farm animal, except for backyard chickens).

Do you own a bird that needs a wing, nail, or beak trim? Is your scaly friend not eating or maybe they did not completely shed? Maybe you have a guinea pig, rabbit, ferret, or sugar glider that needs a little extra TLC. We welcome your exotic pets here at East Roswell Vet Hospital!

*WE CAN ONLY TREAT AN EXOTIC LEGAL TO OWN IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA*
While you see that we are licensed by the DNR to treat raptors and reptiles, we are not treating them as pets but as urban wildlife that will be released into their habitat.

Please check your state and local regulations when choosing an exotic pet.

While we treat reptiles, we can only care for non-venomous snakes.
